For 20 years, this firm has been about people.

What began as a small idea—to serve families with care and honesty—has grown into something far more meaningful than we could have imagined.

We’ve had the privilege of walking alongside you through retirements, new beginnings, and everything in between. And through it all, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to doing right by the people we serve.

June 2006

SD Capital is founded.

SD Capital is founded in 2006 with a clear focus on family-like care and doing right by the people we serve every step of the way.

August 2006

We sign our first client.

We welcomed our first client and begin building the kind of relationships that continue to define how we work and serve today.

August 2008

Our first office opens.

We opened our first office in Toledo, offering a space where clients can connect in person and always feel comfortable stopping by.

August 2008

We hired our first full- time employee.

We hired our first full-time employee, growing the team and expanding our ability to better support clients in their day-to-day financial lives.

April 2009

The client experience takes shape.

We started hosting client events, creating more opportunities to build meaningful bonds and connect with people beyond the office.

April 2007

We signed our 100th client.

We reached 100 clients, a milestone earned through showing up, doing the work, and bringing humanity back to financial planning.

August 2007

SD Capital became independent.

We became an independent advisor, ensuring every decision we make is fully aligned with what’s best for our clients.

January 2017

Four locations are established.

We expanded to four locations across Ohio, allowing us to stay connected to the communities we serve while continuing to grow the firm.

August 2025

A new chapter for the brand.

We updated our brand to better reflect how we work and the experience people have come to expect from our team.

March 2026

We reached 20 full- time team members.

More expertise, more bandwidth—and a stronger commitment to walking alongside our clients through every stage of their growth.
