Brent Shimman brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Since launching his career in 2000, he’s been driven by a deep belief that financial planning should feel personal, purposeful, and empowering. In 2006, he co-founded SD Capital to help individuals, families, and business owners craft financial plans that reflect what truly matters in their lives.

A proud graduate of the University of Toledo, Brent holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a degree in Finance and Sales. He is licensed with FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66, along with multiple health and life insurance designations.

Brent remains actively involved in his community, contributing his time and leadership to organizations such as the Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce, Oregon City Schools Foundation and St Marks Lutheran Church. He is also engaged with local development efforts through the Cambridge New Century Council. Brent lives in Oregon, Ohio with his wife Alyssa and their five children, where he remains grounded in family, service, and a commitment to helping others live intentionally.
