My Philosophy
I believe money should serve your life, not the other way around. Before we talk about investments, taxes, or retirement income, I want to understand who you are, what matters to you, and what you’re worried about, because a great financial plan should make your life feel simpler, not more overwhelming. I ask a lot of questions, tell you what I genuinely think even if it’s not what you expected to hear, and explain the “why” behind the advice. Our meetings should feel like conversations, not presentations. And I view every client relationship as a long term one. That means we get to work through the hard decisions together and celebrate the wins together.
Who I Help
I help people who’ve worked hard and built something meaningful be intentional about what’s next. My best clients are often within 10 years of retirement, recently retired, business owners, or navigating a major transition. They’re people who value relationships over transactions and want a long-term partner who understands their family and what they actually want their money to do for them.
Why I Became an Advisor
When I was 14, I was in a serious accident and received a modest settlement. Instead of spending it, my parents invested it, and we patiently watched that money grow. In time, it helped fund my college education and provide the down payment on my first home. This was my first real lesson in what good financial decisions, with consistency, can create. It has shaped how I think about advising ever since.
Outside the Office
In my free time, my life revolves around family, friends, time on the water, and sports — golf, tennis, coaching my kids’ teams. I have deep roots in Northwest Ohio; It’s where I grew up, where we built SD Capital, and where the relationships that matter most to me began.
